Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers will expand its services in Ottawa by offering gastroenterology care starting October 24, 2025. Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Stephanie Mickley will begin seeing patients at 1300 Starfire Drive.
Mickley, a nurse practitioner specializing in gastroenterology, will provide care for various digestive health issues. These include abdominal pain, heartburn, acid reflux, bloating, irregular bowel movements, and hemorrhoids. She also treats more complex conditions such as Barrett’s esophagus, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and lymphocytic colitis.
Mickley said she wants patients to know that help is available for those experiencing symptoms like abdominal pain and discomfort, heartburn, difficulty swallowing, acid reflux, bloating or excess gas, constipation or diarrhea, blood in stool, irregular bowel movements, or unexplained weight changes.
“I want people to know that there is so much we can do to help with gastrointestinal and digestive issues,” said Mickley. “I understand people can feel shy when discussing symptoms with a provider, but there’s no reason to feel embarrassed. We ask questions to help get us closer to addressing the symptoms and helping patients return to normal.”
With over 27 years of nursing experience—14 of which have been focused on gastroenterology—Mickley has continued her commitment to the specialty since becoming a certified nurse practitioner in 2020.
