The Channahon Police Department hosted its annual "Shop with a Hero" event on December 7, bringing holiday cheer to families in Grundy County.
According to the Channahon Police Department, they expressed gratitude towards Illinois State Police Trooper Gunty for joining the team, Channahon Mayor Missey for her support, and the many volunteers who contributed to making the event possible.
The event was facilitated by Grundy County Heroes and Helpers and included visits with Santa and local heroes, along with activities such as balloon art.
Grundy County Heroes and Helpers Inc., a non-profit organization comprised of first responders, their families, and local volunteers, aims to assist disadvantaged children in Grundy County. "Shop with a Hero" is one of several events they host throughout the year.
