Minooka – Bill Aeschliman, owner of JB Property Pros, LLC, has announced progress in the development of The Preserve at Heritage Woods. This Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) aims to provide a seamless transition for seniors as their care needs change.

A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, October 10 at 10:30 a.m., adjacent to 701 Heritage Woods Drive in Minooka. Heritage Woods of Minooka, which opened in 2017 as a supportive living facility, marks the first phase of this four-phase project that has been underway for over 19 years. Upon completion, the community will accommodate about 350 residents with various care options.

“Our neighborhood of senior services is designed to follow residents as their needs advance,” said Aeschliman. “This approach enhances their quality of life while providing families peace of mind, knowing their loved ones are well taken care of at every stage of aging.”

The next phase involves The Preserve-Duplexes with 46 independent living duplexes for seniors aged 55 and older, expected by 2025. Future plans include around 50 independent senior apartments and a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility. By its full realization in 2027, the project will ensure residents do not need additional facilities as their care needs evolve.

“This project is filling a need for our senior community and growing an area of Minooka that is ready for development,” said Christina Van Yperen, Channahon Minooka Chamber President & CEO. “We cannot wait to celebrate the groundbreaking of The Preserve at Heritage Woods.”

Services available at the assisted living facility will extend to duplex residents who will have priority access to other facilities on site. The community will promote an active lifestyle with amenities like gardening areas, pickleball courts, and plans for a clubhouse and lap pool.

“One of the hardest decisions seniors and their families have to make is: Where am I (we) going to live through the transition of aging?” Aeschliman stated. “Our dream is to offer a community where your quality of life is greatly enhanced by not having to hassle with the question, ‘Where do I (we) go next?’ We have facilities that can handle all your aging transitions.”
